 Phuket King's Cup Regatta opening day winners celebrated on Kata Beach at Boathouse Resort on the BeachPHUKET – 'Boathouse Resort' at Kata Beach hosted the first post-race party of 25th Anniversary Phuket King’s Cup Regatta. Live DJs and large video displays of the day's racing provided the early evening entertainment as sailors and fans of the Regatta cooled down after the race and turned their attention to beachside fun. Rivalries were put aside temporarily, as comrades-in-arms enjoyed drinks together courtesy of Mont Clair Wine by Siam Winery. An elegant candle ceremony was presented in honour of His Majesty the King of Thailand’s 84th birthday, and His Majesty was toasted by the traditional raising of glasses and three shouts of “Chai-Yo.” Boathouse (formerly Mom Tri’s Boathouse) recently underwent an extensive rennovation and the 'new look' venue remains as popular as ever with Phuket King’s Cup Regatta sailors. Prizes were awarded in each racing class and presented by Boathouse Resort and Siam Winery executives.

Snakes and Ladders as places change on Day Two of the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta Phuket - Frank Pong’s “Jelik II” fought back with a Day Two win to challenge for the IRC Zero title, whilst an inexperienced one-day team, “Sail Plane”, won in the Bareboat Charter. The second day of racing, sponsored by Singha Corporation and Haadthip PLC., experienced good winds at the start easing off towards the end of the Round-The-Island course set for today.December 06, 2011
Phuket King’s Cup Regatta Honours His Majesty the King with the strongest fleet of racers for many years 05 December 2011 PHUKET - The 25th Phuket King’s Cup Regatta made an impressive start with a sail past to honour of His Majesty the King on his 84th birthday, which was followed by hot favorites in each Class preparing to deliver their best form. The sail past ceremony took place to the south of Pu Island at 08:30 where the Royal Thai Navy ships, led by HTMS Chonburi, received salutes from participating vessels. It was the official start for Asia’s most prestigious sailing event, at which more than 1,000 sailors from 35 nations are participating.December 05, 2011
