Phuket To Host Phuket World Musiq Festival In Honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 84th Birthday Celebration

Borderless world musiq, culture and fun in Honor of “the Father of Love” and celebrating Phuket as an international hub of music and culture

Phuket (22 November 2011) The Province of Phuket, the Provincial Administrative Organization of Phuket, Phuket Municipality, Singha Corporation and Lavelle Entertainment present the first “Phuket World Musiq Festival” in honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 84th Birthday Celebration (7th Buddhist Cycle) from December 2nd-5th 2011 on the outer stage at Saphan Hin Public Park – near the Phuket World Musiq Fountain, Phuket’s latest attraction in Phuket City.

Khun Paiboon Upatising, President of the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO) revealed that “PPAO is proud to host the ‘Phuket World Musiq Festival’ in honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 84th Birthday Celebration. This event will create an opportunity for local Thai people, Thai visitors from around the country and foreign visitors from around the world, to come together and honor His Majesty during the auspicious occasion of his 7th Buddhist Cycle (84th Birthday Anniversary).

“The festival will be on the outer stage at Saphan Hin Public Park and together with our new Phuket World Musiq Fountain is aimed at creating an atmosphere of “borderless creativity” in the heart of Phuket. Phuket is already host to myriad international sporting and cultural events and this festival adds to that multi-cultural, cosmopolitan environment,” Khun Paiboon added

“Todd Tongdee and his team have brought together superstar cultural performers from around the Kingdom like Lanna Cummins, Kun Inn, Nga Caravan, the world musiq of the USA’s AMERICANA as well as the world musiq giant HASSAN HAKMOUN of Morocco, and combined them with our own Nakhon Phuket Youth Orchestra and cultural shows from PPAO students from around the Island.”

The Phuket World Musiq Festival takes place over four nights beginning at 5:30 pm each evening and continuing through to midnight with great food, exhibitions and, of course, world musiq. The entire event is FREE and a full schedule of events can be found at phuketworldmusiq.com.
The festival begins on December 2nd with the moving“Phuket Symphony of Youth” and culminates December 5th with National Artist Naowarat Pongpaiboon leading all in the original “Father of Love” celebration in honor of His Majesty.

Mr. Todd (Tongdee) Lavelle, Managing Director of Lavelle Entertainment – one of Asia’s leading world musiq and culture organizers and creator of the Phuket World Musiq Festival – explained, “It is the shared vision of Khun Paiboon and the people of Phuket to bring together locals and foreign guests in a truly “borderless event”.
